Our son LOVES our puppy and ignores me, normal?

So we got a new puppy and my son (son month old) LOVES this dog so much. I work with my son to help teach him what's ok and what's not and what to do if he nips him. ("Say no and push him away.") But his's completely afixed to this dog and ignores me. I don't mind the breaks here and there as I'm 6 months pregnant, but sometimes he ignores me to play with the dog and I'm actually upset over it. Anyone else have the same deal?
